Creation of the first living kidney donation program

The Quebec Living Kidney Donation Program was created and its coordination entrusted to the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), which received $1.5 million per year in financing. The program calls for a coordinated effort by all concerned stakeholders to increase the number of living donor transplantations as well as train and inform health professionals, patients and their loved ones.
