Creation of the position of physician responsible for coordinating organ donation and transplantation

In 2016, after several presentations by Transplant Québec, the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) and the Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ) agreed on the role assigned to physicians responsible for organ and tissue donation and transplantation. These physicians are charged with coordinating organ and tissue donation and transplantation activities in their respective establishments, and liaising with the different organizations involved in the allocation, procurement and transplantation of organs.
